Volker -> new in forum, re-starting to learn flamenco guitar (Mar. 12 2009 4:17:24)

Hello, reading this forum for several weeks now this is my first contribution. The first time I statrted to learn flamenco-guitar 1978-1981 after some years of playing other guitar stuff (classical, steelstring acoustic folkblues etc.). I stopped playing that time due to studying and starting to work and... . Bur I always kept a strong emotional bond to my flamenco guitar, a 1979 Sobrinos de Estesos blanca (no media luna). And through the years some times tried to play again, but did not stick to it. Now i really got infected again, re-hearing my old vinyl-LP´s (Sabicas, PdL, Paco Pena, Serranito) from past times and discovering that flamenco unterwent an evolution to G. Nunez etc., sometimes nice, sometimes i have to get used to. Now my question: Today a vast literature to learn flamenco guitar of surprising quality is available, compared to almost none 30 years ago. As i am living in "old europe", Germany, there are also, due to the short distances compared to US, qualified possible teachers, some of them quite renown, within reach. Though i have to work I am limitted in my time attending lessons on regularly basis, I am thinking of attending instead some workshop, or better teaching in spain at last once a year beside learning from the available material. What would you suggest, and, can you name some teachers/ schools in places worth a holiday e.g. in Andalucia to me? Unfortunately i do not speak spanish but will get along in English (excuse my inapropriate usage of that language in this threat, though i am no native speaker), if German is not possible. Thank you for your suggestions! Volker
