cncfrost -> Beatvibe for Iphone, A Flamenco Metronome (Feb. 19 2009 11:22:33)

Hello everyone! First I'd like to say I'm new to the forum and to playing flamenco. This forum has been very useful to my base of knowledge and flamenco playing. Wanted to let you know, for those who have an iphone, that there is an flamenco metronome app available!

http://www.iphonedownloadblog.com/2009/01/12/mobile-compas/

I thought this app might be useful for those who want a metronome that was portable. I have nothing to do with this app ( I am not the developer or anything like that). I guess it use to be called mobile compas. Now it's called Beatvibe and you can get thru Itunes.

"For the flamenco player, Mobile Compas is a flamenco metronome offering the familiar flamenco clock and comes pre-programmed with flamenco palos such as Solea, Alegrias, Bulerias, Tangos and more. Program your own palmas loops.

For the non-flamenco player, Mobile Compas is a general purpose drum machine and metronome. Learn complex rhythm by visualizing in a clock metaphor which is long known to flamenco players and used by flamencos as a tool to master complex rhythms. Program your own rhythm loops using a full drum kit generator."

If anyone has it, I would love to know what you think of it. As for me, I'm such a new beginner that I still learning about the importance of the flamenco compas and the differences between the different styles. Thanks to everyone sharing info and your opinions about flamenco on this forum. You guys can get into heated debates at times ( but in a good way)!!!

Mark

Hi Mark,
just because of your post I found out and downloaded it immediately.

Nice app. Escapacially when you're getting bored with the monotone metronome, just turn of the volume and it can vibrate on the accents, very nice.

Guys,

An update for Beat Vibe, my flamenco metronome for the iphone/ ipod touch just went live on the AppStore. Features several fun features like tapada sounds and tapada compases, themes and more.

Koz,
Yes, there is also a new palmas sound. I added some help screens so new users will avoid the confusion you had (with so many options, it's was hard without a help). It should also work better for you now at higher bpm, better sound fidelity.

Next update I'm planning will have a few special features aimed at those who accompany dance.

i finally got my ipod touch and beatvibe.

great program! after i downloaded it, i played with it straight for a few hours.

just downloaded the update. nice work! i like how when you go edit the beats, the sounds you use are conveniently at the top in blue.

i can't really think of any suggestions for future updates at the top of my head right now. but maybe even more sounds? maybe a cajon with a fatter bass. oh and maybe one more option for volume to make four in total, so we can play with dynamics more.

god damn it, every time i mess with this program, i HAVE to take out my guitar. lol.

did you add more jaleos?

can't wait for the next update. special features??? are you going to tell us or be all secretive! [:@]

Hows the new ipod? Nice gadget, eh?

Noticed you got it, saw the compas patterns you uploaded, nice.

yeah, there are so many sounds now, I had to find a way to make it faster to input

Will try to add that in a future update. As for cajon with fatter bass, I need to find one to record, it's my cajon recorded there...

hehe, have to add that as a feature of the app...

yes.

If I tell, it will spoil the surprise [8|] it's something I wanted for myself for a long time. It's a complex feature though and at the rate I find time to work on the app, it will take me a couple months to finish.

If you want to be a beta tester though, pm me.

btw, what's the meaning of your nick, at_leo_87, saw you use the same one if several places in the net.

at is my initials
leo is my nickname/zodiac sign
87 is the year i was born

it's not a very creative username but i needed to make an email address years ago in a hurry and now i just happen to use it with everything so i can remember it easily.

i uploaded some of those compases by accident before i finished them. anyway to delete/edit them?

i'm loving the new ipod! i bought a refurbished one. i got 16gb one for the price of an 8gb ipod touch.

I haven't yet built into the app full editing control of the database. Guess now that it's becoming bigger I should.

For now just send me the names of the compases you want deleted (or rename them in your app to "delete me" and reshare, it will update the name in the database) and I'll remove them manually.

at_leo_87 -> RE: Beatvibe for Iphone, A Flamenco Metronome (Nov. 14 2009 22:15:48)

hmmm... i guess it's not a big deal. it's just that i think i uploaded some of them into the wrong category.

if i update/edit the beats on my ipod, will it automatically update onto the database?

Hee Guy,
nice updates man!

Its running stable at high speeds, great work! I also like the shuffle feauture, thats what jazz-people must have been asking for.
And ofcourse the great Help feature.

That must be anti-sound to reduce the stompin [:D]

Is there also a possibility for the future that there will be some kinda "song-creation"?
Something like:
Pattern1 x 3
Pattern2 x 3
Pattern3 x 3
Pattern4 x 3

That would be really cool and most probably a 95% discount on the Oscar Herrero Metronome.

kozz -> RE: Beatvibe for Iphone, A Flamenco Metronome (Nov. 24 2009 12:11:28)

Hee at_leo_87,
you posted some nice loops in the Beatvibe library...thanks!

kozz -> RE: Beatvibe for Iphone, A Flamenco Metronome (Dec. 4 2009 8:35:38)

EVERYBODY GET AN iPhone!!!!!
Just beta-tested the new Beatvibe application...its fantastic.

....due to strong secrecy I cannot say more for now, but that app is getting somewhere
[:D]

gshaviv -> RE: Beatvibe for Iphone, A Flamenco Metronome (Dec. 17 2009 23:05:01)

The latest update to Beat Vibe just went live on the iTunes AppStore. The main new feature is a song mode that lets you set a sequence of compases to play, controlling the number of repetitions and the speed. Lets you practice things like subida, switching from an alegria to buleria, or just create a very rich sounding loops.

makes my $300 oscar herrero metronome pretty redundant...
easier programming, constant updates....great sharing facility
easy editing...unlike the ohfm...

gshaviv -> RE: Beatvibe for Iphone, A Flamenco Metronome (May 1 2011 12:06:56)

Are you suggesting I should charge $300 for it? [;)]

Would appreciate also a review in the App Store, helps keep those updates coming.
