Anyone ever heard of or know about a 'Bi-level guitar?
I read an article from 1985 about some makers in La Jolla, California:
Wayne Harris, David Millard developing and testing a new guitar design by Roger Pytlewski.
The body shape is the same as any normal guitar but the sound board is stepped (a bit like the side shape of a WWII German helmet) with the strings entering straight into the stepped part of the soundboard.
Strange but true.
Did it ever go any further?
