Metallica rhythmically challenged

thought this was funny. When I was a kid I was impressed with most of the rhythm guitar parts and soloing of Hetfield, but Hammet's stuff was always sort of aimless IMO. Now I know why!

I can't believe this.
He was choosen as world's best player once wasn't he ?

He always was in Mustain's shadow I guess. And of course Hetfield's rhythm is almost unbeatable.

That was funny. I'm still a Metallica fan. I recently got the latest release 'Death Magnetic' and although I think it's a great album all the way through, there are some songs that to me, Kirk's leads do not mesh well or fit with what is going on in the compositions. They don't "flow" with the song. It's almost as if he's just doing a lead for the sake of doing a lead.

Maybe it's just me though. I cannot play anywhere near like Hammet so it could be that I'm missing the message.

Yeah, like he is always a hair sharp. Then Hetfied solos perfectly in tune, slow, melodic, rhythmic, etc....

At the risk of digressing, did someone mention "Juan Martin"? Then again, how could we not when the "greatest guitar player in the world" title is bandied about? He's "the Pope of the guitar". Juan Martin! Juan Martin! Juan Martin!....
