get 47 picados book by jorge berges. great reference for flamenco scales. either that or manuel grandos tecnica de la guitarra flamenca. lots of scales and exercises for the left hand.

i've seen this book (47 Scales for Flamenco Guitar by Jorge Berges) for sale online, what is it exactly, is it 47 picado runs transcribed off cd's? Or 47 scale patterns that the runs are composed from? Any chance of posting up the contents?

Are these just scales or Falsetas?

Can anyone here answer this simple question, plz?

Divided into keys
Por medio/arriba
Tarantos
And E and C major etcetera
And which palos these correspond to

Short Melodic patterns Using the above material
Ascending and descending
Not sure if they are transcribed from elsewhere or his own
Don't see much benefit running up and down scales without some Intervallic stuff going on - so the book works well - some chromatic variants within the scale

The book itself is well laid out and clearly explained
The examples are good material
Saying that however you could just pul a bunch of Picado runs from any transcription - collate - and create your own - save your money and do something else with it

Hope that answers the question
