Baldi Olier

Thought you might enjoy this:

Not a lot of Flamenco in Israel but we do have Baldi Olier. Baldi's music is a fusion of Flamenco and Mediterranean music. His playing is exceptional.

Dayammm...from a musician standpoint, his rasguedo and picado skills are off the charts. As a hopeless music lover, I thought that was a genuinely great song. I'm gonna have to look for that on iTunes or somewhere.

Whatever it is, it's certainly got nothing to do with Flamenco!
It sounds like some Israeli folk-dance done on the guitar to me....

Doit will be able to criticize better....

cheers,

Ron

Oh no, there is definitely some heavy flamenco influence in there! My only criticism is the lack of big booties and 24" spinners.

I also don't think, that this has anything to do with flamenco, but I definitely liked it. It's one of the few music videos on youtube that I watched until the end.

But he sure did a better job in playback than them flamencos do on Spanish TV.

No need to guess--here's the info from YouTube:

thats a grown up view at music, i love it with one stroke of the key you have decided for everyone if it has the "real" music value or not i normaly wouldnt care..Id leave it alone, put it down to personal taste.. but thats an old romanian folk song you are talking about..a litlle bit of sencitivity or respect for world cultures wouldnt do any harm.

good or no good to you it means something to some people

Some simple steps you can try:

Breathe deeply, from your diaphragm; breathing from your chest won't relax you. Picture your breath coming up from your "gut."

Slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as "relax," "take it easy." Repeat it to yourself while breathing deeply.

Use imagery; visualize a relaxing experience, from either your memory or your imagination.

Nonstrenuous, slow yoga-like exercises can relax your muscles and make you feel much calmer.
Practice these techniques daily. Learn to use them automatically when you're in a tense situation.

Problem Solving

Sometimes, our anger and frustration are caused by very real and inescapable problems in our lives. Not all anger is misplaced, and often it's a healthy, natural response to these difficulties. There is also a cultural belief that every problem has a solution, and it adds to our frustration to find out that this isn't always the case. The best attitude to bring to such a situation, then, is not to focus on finding the solution, but rather on how you handle and face the problem.

Make a plan, and check your progress along the way. Resolve to give it your best, but also not to punish yourself if an answer doesn't come right away. If you can approach it with your best intentions and efforts and make a serious attempt to face it head-on, you will be less likely to lose patience and fall into all-or-nothing thinking, even if the problem does not get solved right away.

Better Communication

Angry people tend to jump to—and act on—conclusions, and some of those conclusions can be very inaccurate. The first thing to do if you're in a heated discussion is slow down and think through your responses. Don't say the first thing that comes into your head, but slow down and think carefully about what you want to say. At the same time, listen carefully to what the other person is saying and take your time before answering.

Yep, isn't it fun.

Indeed that song does. He has others that are more flamenco. I saw him perform a nice Segiriya and a damn nice Buleria once. He studied with PDL.

The foro is back! Like a phoenix from the ashes...

That was funny and i cant agree that it had no control. It was technically 100% controlled, and that divides this guy from the real trash players that you can find on youtube.
Its obvious that they are dressed like real flamencos (the outfit, the dancer making palmas)... and not to forget the Conde negra lol. So, it MUST be good!
