Amazing Tomatito Concert

Last nights Tomatitos concert in New York city was just incredible!!!!!!!!!!! and
Truly inspirational.

La Tana on vocals blew me away. Ole!!!!!
Jose Maya - Dancer and what a dancer he his, I think my girl may be in love with him.

Tomatito opened the show with an Alegrias than went into a Taranta followed by a bulerias and than he did this soleares piece that went into a piazzolla and back to soleares, interesting and jaw dropping.

What I found to be the most amazing part of the show was the intimacy Tomatito created. Granted Town Hall is not the largest venue but then again nor is it the smallest one. I really do not know how to explain what I mean by intimacy, all I can say is that I saw Vicente Amigo perform at the same hall and though it was great the intimacy thing was not there.

Funny thing is my girl is becoming more of a flamenco fan and she feels that anyone who thinks Vicente Amigo is a better guitarist than Tomatito is homosexual. I was cracking up when she made that comment, but you what there may be some truth to it.

Talk to you fags later.

I agreed completely! What an awesome show. I loved the way he started playing a tangos that went on for, like, 10 minutes until it somehow (at some point ) became a bulería, and then played two more bulerías, then a third bulería for the encore!

It was a really cool show, and a lot more traditional in sound than a lot of his recorded material. A lot of it (though not all) was very much focused on accompanying the cante, it seemed.

haha I didn't know I was homosexual though, very interesting!

You gotta be more specific. If I'm not mistaken, the word fag in certain parts of the world means cigarette no? Talk to you cigarettes later???

I'm in the US so I know what you mean. although, here in the US, and maybe other parts of the world, that is not the right word to use. I like Tomatito better so I'm not gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

is that going to replace the usual "i'm not gay - not that there's anything wrong with that!"? saying "i don't prefer vicente to tomatito - not that there's anything wrong with that!"

I saw Tomatito on Friday in Miami. It was an amazing show. Tiene un toque super gitano. ¡Un fenómeno! He was on fire! His playing is so raw and powerful. He also played a few Paco falsetas. He kept it pretty simple. La Tana (cante), José Maya(baile), His nephew(2nd guitar.... I can't remember his name), and the percussionist I believe was another family member of his. I hate when the come with the 10 piece bands.

I'll make a little write up when I get a little more time. We took some photos after the show with him.

Un saludo, Errol

Yes, an amazing show! El Cristi (guitar), Lucky Losada (percussion), La Tana (vocal), José Maya (dancer). FYI: La Tana is the singer on Paco de Lucia's Cositas Buenas. Well deserved standing ovations!

acctualy i prefer Curb your Enthusiasm 1st, cause in Seinfeld Larry had to tone it down for network tv alot, plus its even more unobvious clever humour, there's no punchline stops or loughter tracks.. if you dont get the joke (your problem) it moves on.

Curb your Enthusiasm is all him, and he can curse !:-) cause its HBO.

btw. did you know the Geroge character in Seinfeld was written after Larry David himself ? you must if you are Seinfeld fans
