Capos/Cejillas

So I'm in the market to replace my old, not-too-nice hand-me-down capo, and I'm trying to decide which one to get...

I really do like the traditional cejilla look and it seems like the one on stringsbymail gets rid of some of the problems the older ones had. Any thoughts? Are there any awesome cejillas/capos I'm missing?

If you want a traditional cejilla, look at a_arnolds cejillas. They are great.

Carved Cejillas

If you want a modern capo, go for a Dunlop or Shubb.

I would buy both a capo and a cejilla.

hey ramparts,

I looked at all those links and. personally, I think the two modern ones look horrible!!!

I'd go for a traditional one or a classic jim dunlop one.

however that traditional one in your link is boring. part of the attraction with a traditional capo is the looks no? did you see this recent thread?

Yeah...I got one the carved ones last week.
Very nice...Looks very Andalusian/Moorish and fits really securely too, unlike some trad cejillas I've tried.

Actually it's faster to change frets on this one than the Dunlop, as you just loosen it slightly, slide and tighten.

I had a "Keyser" - the one that looks like a hair-clip. Not good. It's spring-loaded and the spring isn't strong enough to really clamp the strings down, so it mutes the guitar perceptibly. I use Shubb - looks like the modern pix you have, but relies on simple leverage to snap in place.

Way quicker and more reliable than the classic cejilla.

I bought the NS Capo from Stringbymail and love it. Very easy to use and clamps however hard you want it to. I like it much better than the Dunlop. Quality seems great also. I've had mine a couple of months so far.

I prefer a capo/cejilla that is light. I tried the G7 in a shop. I really liked the action, but it is way too heavy for my taste. It drastically changed the feel of the guitar. I usually use a traditional cejilla or a dunlop toggle capo. I have not tried the NS Capo.
