Bridge tie beads

Enyone tried these;

Looks like it might work to help improve the break angle if your bridge saddle is low. But then again, do thay rattle on the sound board?

I dont think that they rattle. But the idea could work. I had a guitar with 12hole system. And there was a big difference between playing it using the extraholes or normal. So I think its a nice invention but looks a bit too much gay IMO.

Seems like over-kill.
Tie a knot in the end of the string and thread through the hole - does the same thing.
It's still not the same as the 12-hole variety because the string is not really tied to the bridge.

How on earth would the end of a string add to the response and brightness?

I think its not the end of the string that add's response and brightness but the angle the string makes over the saddle. Without the loop that pulls the string a little upwards the angle gets sharper.

Tom, depending how large the tie block holes are. Most likely the B and high E will slide through the holes.

I was wrestling with the same idea a year ago.
Came up with a tieblock behind the tieblock.
but dropped the idea, too much fuzz

For one of my guitars I have tied a knot in the strings instead of looping over the tie block. This was done to reduce tension which tying adds, even normal tension strings felt tight on it but are softer without the tie. Don't worry about the break angle, my most awesome flamencos with great bass have very little break angle, and others with steep break angles are disappointing.
