Real world vs Internet world

Its really odd ya know, in the "real world" , that is, my everday normal life (away from the computer),
i am super reserved, and tend to not express my opinions. Generally,
i tend overall, to keep my mouth shut. I am often accused of being
"shy", or "too quiet",, and daydreaming/ staring off into space, etc...
I never talk about what i do for a living, and i often hide the guitars
when people come over. (visits from people are rare)

My net personality seems to be the polar opposite.
I find it extremely hard to hold back my true feelings
and opinions here on the boards. In fact, as some of you may know, im
sometimes overly out spoken, and opinionated to the point of being annoying
and pissing people off.
And i will break out the guitar
and a video camera in a heartbeat.
I suppose its not that surprising. But its amusing to me.

Do you find you are a bit of a different person when you visit the forums/boards?

TK

Get out !! really ?

Its funny i was just thiking about you recently, on how you used to annoy the f*uck out of me ( because you didnt do the fake niceties) and then i realised that is silly, i apreciate it better when you are beeing honest, its more productive in the long run, i have come to learn you not just picking on people for the sake of picking on people, (and keeping them down) you acctualy really do belive in what you are saying, and most of the time you are right (ofcourse you no angel lol none of us are ) but i have have come to accept and apreciate the way you are and see behind the first impression.

it has personaly helped me immensly, all of it the good and the bad feedback.

I acctualy now love how honest and opinionated you are lol, even when i disagree i like it

Me , i dont know, i am exactly as i am here in real life, i talk exactly like this ..ofcourse i wouldnt go to someones show and then criticise the f*ck out of him after lol ..Id find somenthing nice to say about it or keep quiet. Like i will be with mister J.M

I tell stupid jokes at the worst times, i want the world to evolve around me if possible, if not... i start spreading ugly storyes about the guy the world does evolve around jk.

I always feel sorry for the guy everyone is against ( even if its his own fault) like is someone says something so wrong and silly and everyone is telling him off, i find myself defending him...... still trying to figure out why, probably cause most of the time i am the one responsible for getting him to the state of saying something really wrong lol (I have a gift ) (so i guess I do it to get the balance back, and because most of the time i feel responsible)

I dont know..i am the same i think.

I also have trouble keeping my opinions to myself but is not cause i care about the subject is more like:

" - Hey.. Hey .. Why are you looking away ? Dont look away... Look at me ..LOOK AT MEE ...

and ofcourse i play the clown if i can put a smile on someos face,...
(damn didnt realise this subect would be so hard, i gues other people would be better at judging if we are the same in real life as we apear here.)

But dont get me wrong, i have a balance of everyhing, ego, low self confidence, houmor , serious, I am pretty eazy going, dont belive everything you read from me, sometimes i exagerate aspects of my personality because it amuses me to see who gets that I am joking and who really thinks i am like that... most people who i have spent a litlle time chatting with here, know that by now.

I know Domenic is EXACTLY the same

So Todk, i guess the question to you now is, do you hold your self back and not be the real you out there ? or are you over indulging in honesty here because you dont have to face the person you pi** off ? who is closer to the real you ? ( I am getting all Ricky Lake on your ass now......" - You know .... I used to be fat ". )

Well, i am the same person in both worlds, but as you said, its less
"dangerous" to be outspoken on the internet, because i dont
have that person standing right in front of me.

Somebody "typing" at you is alot less intimidating than somebody yelling
at you in person.

Anyway, the internet forums are very cathardic for me. i feel more free
to say what's on my mind.
Though, i think ive reigned it in over the years now.

Regardless if one is polite or harsh or just a troll on the net, in the end it is the "real" world that counts.

Funny enough, I think this duality between real world and internet world is disappearing and will change a lot the comming years. Most of us are communicating more and more with other persons on the net, and less and less in direct. I have internet friends, that I somehow know better than "real life" friends.

We all play games. In "real life" and online..... So if I´m different online, yes, I´m always different.

Another thing is that there are a lot of annoying persons on the net, just shouting out loud. This forum is really clean compared to the rest of the internet world.

No I'm same on- or offline - what you see/read is what you get!

But it's fine to be different if that's what you wanna do. I have occasionally ventured into a virtual world where I can choose to be how I want. I usually choose something like..... not sure what you're gonna think of this guys, but it's my fantasy.... Lara Croft.

Hi Todd. Your I am surprised that you are not hotheaded in real life. I am certainly MUCH MUCH less polite when I feel offended in person than I am here. I also have a constantly active (and dreadful ) sense of humour and am never more than a sentance or so from a dreadful pun.

But it is kind of weird how misconceptions can grow. I was on the train with a friend in Glasgow one evening and some drunken idiot started saying that he could take him ( Colin is huge, like a young Arnie and attracts this kind of sh@t sometimes ) , when Colin didn't respond the fool then said that he had no sense of humour because he was German (see above description) and didn't belong in Glasgow.

Anyway when the drunkard left the train Colin broke his silence and spoke in his slightly posh but still clearly Glaswegian accent. Well there was ASTONISHMENT from the people on our carriage ! They actually believed he was German purely on the say so of some big mouthed idiot. And they didn't believe just a little but in fact the were convinced as if they had had genuine evidence.

I must admit that I pitied them in their inablilty to differentiate from genuine evidence and hearsay, also the inherent lack of self confidence that made them so easily swayed when given the opportunity to pass judgement on a perceived minority.

Well.....my regards to all.

D
