Anyone seen Paco Picado??? 
I was thinking that the forum is rather chilled at the moment and a little unexciting and was trying to remember the last post that got everyone going and it must have been "cocaine and flamenco" I then realised that since that first post he made about the above mentioned topic I haven't heard anything from Paco Picado, he never even contributed to that thread. Strange.
I'm not trying to drag up old news or trouble. I just thought it odd that he created such a huge stir and an exciting thread and has never been seen again!

Perhaps what he saw that night so disgusted him he's given up on flamenco.
Where are you man?

Thanks for bringing that thread up again Stu What a soap opera!!!

Speaking of PDL and Juan Martin, I remember that JM many years ago used to publicise himself alongside a photo of Paco and slogan along the lines of "Juan Martin and Paco de Lucia are among two of the best guitarists in the world"

This is not technically untrue since Paco de Lucia IS among two of the best guitarists in the world....

which leads me to my new CD notes "Pimientito and Gerardo Nuñez are among two of the most important figures of modern flamenco guitar technique"

There actually was a recent poster that thought JM WAS better than Paco!!!!!!!!!

It's all relative, I am sure there is a foro somewhere where the consensus is so strongly in favour of JM that anyone who suggested there was anything missing from his playing would be serially attacked.

sorry for the long absence, a few reasons for it. Not that your all interested. Computer went tits up, so got a new laptop. 2. I thought after my last post and naming names I was banned for life, and the after life. But hey flamenco is full of high drama, fights in Tabernas, I saw a few in my 1 year stay in Almunecar "I walked out one summers day", or something by Lawrie Lee. I like stirring things up a bit, popping folks reality bubble. Anyway back playing and trying to learn the god damn Riqueni Buleria from his Alcazar de Crystal album. The introduction; if anyone out there has attempted is almost too fast to be poss. I have been obsessed by this guy for years, as I think he is the most intelligent composer of solo flamenco guitar in 20 odd years. I would like to know if he has dug himself out of the depression he got stuck in. Someone said he had a stroke. Was taht true?

juan martin's clothing choice? == 1 choice in the 70s and status quo until now.
