Shaken....but not stirred

I as watching the classic Bond movie, Dr. No the other day which still stands up as a great film (mainly due to Ursula Andress)
However there were a couple of points about the ending which sprung to mind.
Having been trapped in Dr. Nos high security lair, Bond escapes his solid steel cell, over rides the solid copper doors with no handles, survives the electric security grills on the air vents and breaks into the Nuclear reactor room which is cunningly guarded by .... a pair of wooden kitchen swing doors.
Once inside the reactor, safely protected by an inflatable plastic suit, he attempts to scupper Dr No's plans by exceeding the danger level on the reactor. This he does by turning a large steering wheel to the right until power exceed a large red "danger level" arrow. He is nearly thwarted when one of the workers attempts to hit the large red "emergency stop" button.
After causing a core meltdown everyone runs away unscathed when the "abandon area" board lights up in the reactor room.
Now call me Naive but wouldn't modern nuclear accidents be easily avoided if there were emergency stop buttons and abandon area boards fitted as standard in nuclear power plants.

It also led to me thinking about why someone fitted a "life forms terminated" button to the computor on the spaceship in 2001. Why would anyone do that? Maybe we could see computors with "losing your data" lights fitted or DVD players with "stop inexplicably" and "failing to load" warnings...

....anyway this is the off topic section

Also why did OddJob get electrocuted when Bond touched the bars with the High Voltage electric cable?
This would have required a bare metal floor to complete the circuit and OddJob to be wearing conductive shoes.

Presumably, if the floor was metal, then bars would have been bolted or welded to it anyway, so Bond would have done no more than simply blow a fuse.

Sometimes my customers who cannot believe that their equipment has broken down ask "Isn't there a button somewhere that you can push to reset it?"

Now that would be a great idea...for all electronic equipment to be fitted with a "repair fault" button.

Also, in superman 2, Superman reverses time so Lois forgets he's Superman.
Once thats done he returns, as clark kent, to the truck stop where he'd been beaten up earlier after loosing his powers. He then precedes to beat up the same trucker who beat him before, in an act of redemption.
But my problem is this......If he reversed time to erase Lois's memory wouldn't he have erased that truckers memory too. Infact, if he'd turned back time the beating would never have happened at all. So what Superman actually did was walk into a random truck stop and beat up someone he'd never met and had no previous quarrel with. The poor guy must of wondered what had hit him.
Man of Steel???? hmmmm more like a pussy superhero abusing his powers...disgusting

Hummmmm....? I guess the steel doors would have to be supported from steel jamb sections that connect back to the main structural steel frame which would be earthed, but that's just a guess.

I'm not too convinced that he actually did this, I mean it was just a movie?

Yeah, I thought that movie was the first superman movie where he reversed time.
Wasnt superman 2 the one with the battle with the 3 criminals from krypton released from their dimensional prison by the nuclear explosion in space?
