Hey hemeola man, what is that exercise??? is it in the encuentro book?

I doesnt sound like a good choice for what val is asking.

Val if you are going on Ailsas course I think it would be good for you to learn some simple soleares, as I think thats what we are gonna concentrate on...?

I can mail you a couple of very basic pieces if ya want or some slightly more advanced ones or both...

Stu

Hey Stu and Val,

Yep it's gonna be Soleares. I think Stu's suggestion is a good one. If you are mailing anything to Val can I be in on it too?! Pretty please!

Just play this and you are playing top notch flamenco por solea:

E-----0-------0-------0--
B-----1-------1-------1--
G-----2-------2-------2--
D------------------0------
A-0------2----------------
E--------------------------

E-----0-------0-------0--
B-----1-------1-------1--
G-----0-------0---0---0--
D----------2--------------
A-3------------------------
E---------------------------

E------0-------0--------0--
B------1-------1--------1--
G------2-------2--------2---
D--3-------2-------3---------
A------------------------------
E------------------------------

E-------0------------------0-
B-------0-------------0-------
G-------1---------1-----------
D-------------2----------------
A-------------------------------
E-0-----------------------------

Just keep it slow and even, two notes per beat, alternate thumb and fingers. Thumb is always on the beat. If this is too easy, break the little chord you do with fingers, into separate notes, ie arpegio. Practice any arp you want, up or down, fast. slow, even groups of 4, or up AND down really fast if you can. What ever your level, doesn't matter, you should be able to play the basic thing I wrote and it sounds flamenco.

Thanks Ricardo - instant lesson! Just tried it, it's great. I'm gonna add it to what I know already.

Important, though! Comes with practise and experience. Especially in flamenco you'll hear things over and over. When you learn from guitar books which come with CDs try learning from the CDs first then checking out the notes.

Once you have this down you can get almost all your learning material from Youtube...

Hey there ladies, sorry I haven't sent those tabs.

I reinstalled windows a few months back and haven't yet reinstalled my scanner.
The scanner is pretty old and I don't have any drivers for it so cant get it to work

I'll see what else I can do.

ps. Val there are some fairly simple solea bits in that paco pena book (I'm sure I saw you say, you'd just got it, but know i can't see where you said that), in fact I was gonna send you some of that.
