Rafael Romero Flamenco Guitar 1E (Andalucia) Especial Negra 2006 in Mint condition. This is Rafael Romero's top of the line concert model, signed and made by Rafael himself. This Romero flamenca negra is a comfortable 655mm scale with a 52 mm nut and 43 mm string width at the nut. Solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides that is beautifully figured, and extremely thin lacquer finish giving this guitar a big voice. The top is solid German Spruce, the neck is cedar with a nice ebony inlay, and the fretboard solid ebony. Beautiful multilayer binding. Action is very low without fret buzz, ~ 2.5mm at the 12 fret bass string; Rafael is well known for his super job of setting up guitars for best playability.

This model was a custom order for Ole Flamenco in Germany, is the same as the 1E Especial except the head stock and tuners are different. Tuners were upgraded to some nice brass carved Van Gents with black rollers that look great and perform well. Dry, crispy, huge growl, and highly responsive, it never bottoms out like some other negras. It is muy flamenco. Trebles are bright and clear, mids strong, and basses huge - extremely well balanced.

Reason for sale: I am selling the last of my flamencos that is not 650mm scale (which is all that I now play).
