Juan Carmona of France

I am referring this post to Juan Carmona of France under Audio and Video Upload. Please check the picture here and if anyone can confirm that this is Juan Carmona when he was younger?

That is Juan Carmona from France as you said.
What do you mean saying "when he was younger"? He is not so old actually..
I do not know if he is related to the habichuela of Granada...
Well check his web

Check out the rest of the sleeve. I bought a vinyl record of him in 1984 called Flor de mina, which is an excellent recording. He was presented as Jean-Luc Carmona. I think he is indeed related to the Habichuela family. Haven't heard of him for a long time and somebody called Juan Carmona came on the scene, I have a feeling it's the same person but he changed his first name, more gypsy probably.

Funny, yes it is the same guy. I never heard anything about this lp.
But I recognise him with his elbows and the way he hold the guitar.
It is an "oeuvre de jeunesse"..
A good find I think..

Yes, a distant relative of the Habichuela dynasty. Born in Lyon, France. First prize in the Jerez de la Frontera Competition in 1988, finalist in La Union and Cordoba competitions, obtained a diploma from the Jerez Flamenco Foundation in 1989, awarded by Manolo Sanlucar. First prize in the Madrid Paco de Lucia competition in 1994. Going to have a concert with the symphony orchestra in Lyon on 2nd July. Quite an achievement, surprising he didn't mention his first LP on his site. His LP is excellent, and I always prefer the former (more traditional) to Caminos nuevos (2000). I was surprised not to have heard of him until only recently.
