Oud Music??? 
I've heard Munir Bashir, Farid El-Atrache, and Al-Andalus, but would like to listen to a wider range of musicians, modern as well as traditional. Does anyone have a few hot tips?

Hi Jasmine,
Have you heard Radio Tarifa? They're an interesting group, blending flamenco, moroccan and medieval musics... Their 'Rumba Argelina' disc is quite nice and relaxing

Devin,

If you want pure Oud music, you may want to listen to
"Le Trio Joubran". They are three Palestinian brothers
who are masters in Oud. I know at least one of them
has released a solo album as well (Samir Joubran).

I think this is Oud music at its best!

hey jasmine am from egypt the oud home so if you need anything there is a tradional and modern tradional like el sonabaty and hey is relative to me and he died since 20 years but he did a songs for um kalsom who she was the strongest voice in middel east , and noseier shama is from iraq and he lives in egypt since 7 years , the oriental music is full of harmoney also search for el sonabaty or el kasabgy .

Thanks for the reccomendation ramin, Ive been looking for oud music for a while but I keep getting stuff that sounds like rock fusion.
I liked the sample. I think I could go even more earthy down home and less western harmony.
Any more reccomendations would be gladly received.

Many thanks, all of you, for your suggestions! I'm going to HMV tomorrow to hunt for some of these CDs. Also, I just saw Naseer Shama on YouTube - he does a wild thing with ONE HAND. We should try this on guitar!!! Check it out! It's great!!!
