Bridge question

I have taken the bone insert from the bridge, with the intention of inserting the original setup piece that has came with my guitar. Problem is I forgot which way it went in. The bone is tapered, which end do the bass strings sit on, is it the narrow end or the wider end?

hi zorro,

the bone should normally be higher on the bass side, with the angle on the saddle going down to where the strings come out of the tie block.
you'll here if you put it in wrong!

The bone should also be angled so that the strings bend over the front. This way it ´s easy to see how it should be reinserted.

Thanks Stephen and Anders. On inspection I have put it in the wrong way.
