need advice re Gerundino

I have a shot at buying a 1977 Gerundino from Almeria. This would be a bit of a sentimental purchase for me, as I went to a flamenco festival in the civic center at Almeria in 1974. Drove all night to get back to our pensione in Granada at the Hostal California -- directly across the street from Bellido's shop.

Anyway, I didn't know about Gerundino in 1974. I would imagine he was just learning his trade then. The question is this: was he a mature builder in 1977? Was he good at that point? Does anybody know what the span of his career was? I know he died quite recently, and I don't know what his guitars were/are selling for, but I think $1000 US seems pretty good. It has normal wear and dings for a heavily-used flamenco blanca that old, but no structural problems. Pegs.

I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

Hi, I've worked on many gerundinos, the 70s are good,as are the 80s, 90s good up to 95 then rather questionable... some good some bad, the making changed then with some obvious details.. headstock etc price seems good!
