Flamenco teacher on your tube?

Have a look there.

Well, everybody is free to teach anything, even what he doesn t know..But the drama is that he find people who enjoy that...
This guy seems so sure of himself and he knows nothing and plays awfully...
Maybe he is a nice guy but I hope he do not influence so strongly others guys who want to learn flamenco and no horseshit which is less flamenco that **** as we know

This is what i mean with a lack of respect for the culture, a lot of people seem to feel they have a right to redefine a culture after learning a scale mode.

Here is a compas lesson from ottmar;

http://www.ottmarliebert.com/diary/?p=855

"of course…. but that would not be cool!"

That really is awful....really dreadful...
The guy seems very pleased with himself though and very confident.
(What about, I don't quite know.)
Judging by the replies he got, it seems he has "helped" a lot of folk.

cheers

Ron

Wow, that's 10 minutes I'll never get back. I'm not a music major, and consider myself weak when it comes to music theory, but what he calls a modified A scale I learned as the first position (Ionian?) of the C major scale? Also like the way he explains rasgeado..."gotta get the right hand working, like this...."

lol, everyone always makes such big fuss about explaining rasqueado , i like the way he does it, took him 15 minutes to explain a simple scale and 2 secs to explain rasqueados lol, " U might wanna do something like this to get that effect" lol

no worries, I hope someone will sometime,

I tried to translate bits, but I don't want to get what looks like an intriguing story all wrong. Happy Winter.

Basically a guy that plays in cancun who knows Paco tells what happened when Ottmar introduced himself to pdl in miami:

Basically ottmar said "Hi paco, do you know who I am? PDL said "No I don't". Ottmar said "I'm Ottmar Liebert". Paco said "Oh, yoooour Ottmar Liebert, your a shameless person." And Ottmar walked away.

Thats basically it!

Haha, that's funny, but kinda sad, too, although by strict definition, Paco may have been right to have said that. Thanks for translating, Victor! Now I know how the king feels.

best,

Conrad

RE: Flamenco teacher on your tube? (in reply to Guest

Surely the commotion has only to do with Ottmar's theft of the word Flamenco (not to mention the word "New" as if new and improved, haha) and the way he "shamelessly" markets his music as such. Hopefully that's the sole issue at hand as far as Paco, Chuscales and anyone else is concerned. Anyway, we've been here before.

Its pretty funny but it would take a while for me to translate cause my spanish is a bit rusty and i wanted to get the swearwords and colorful language as well.

quote:

..un tio con el pelo largo con cara de no haber cagao ni comido en un año y me extiende la mano para darmela, y le dice, hola Paco no me conoces?

..a guy with long hair who looked like he hadnt taken or **** or eaten for a year extended his hand to shake mine and he said, paco dont you recognize me?

There is more..
