Fun with a desk light

Now I had been talking with my teacher about struting patterns, so I wondered. Shine desk lamp through sound hole, turn off other lights....

Yes you can see the struting pattern clearly, and if you have a camera to hand with a decent low light setting Take some shots.

What really interested me was when I took out another guitar. I could see an oval feature on the rear of the face pannel, but didn't know what it was. Any feature of the wood would surely be shown through i the grain of the front face. I borrowed an inspection mirror and have now found out what it is. I wonder how many other guitars have hidden marks. It reads "Ricardo Sanchis Carpio, Cnstructor"

Wow, so you have a Conde?

A lot of makers stamp or sign the underside of the top.

I can't tell you because it's a secret. NO ONE knows about this. It's highly confidential. Ok, I'll tell you. Carpio builds many Condes.

Ha! I know someone who discoverd his Carpio stamp inside his Atoche Conde.

I am going to check my Yamaha CG171SF right now to see if it has a Fishero Price Constructor stamp. Thats a pretty cool trick about the struts

Alhambra of course. They also make Cordoba guitars. And my friend's Alhambra was made by Tatay. Vicente Sanchis is made by...vicente Sanchis. But the Conde Brothers make the yamaha CG171. All other flamenco guitars are made by Pedro de Miguel. Unless you waited 8 years or so for it, whatever it is.

Well the makers label says Ricardo Sanchis Carpio as well, I just didn't expect a second stamp.
