RE: Help please-nail problem (in reply to Guest

I used acrylic when i play for dancers but it doesnt give any edge so i hate it, so i started to use a bit of superglue instead and it works fine for me (when im not playing for dancers) If you dont put too far up, just the white part of the nail it works fine.

There are some nailkits you can buy as well, i think la bella has one, but theres probably someone else here that knows more than i do ..

Nails, the eternal problem...

Eat tomatoes, jamon serrano, drink Manzanilla, and put krazy glue on. It is very flamenco for cryn out loud.

wall mart
Crazy glue has a way of eventually tearing my nails
It seems almost too hard and it is brittle
This witchcraft stuff is smooth and slightly flexable
seems like
all it does is keep my nails from wearing out
It protects them and hardly makes them any thicker

I actually got the tip of using this stuff from a post on the forum

A question that keeps getting asked over and over.

I have extremely thin nails.
I tried nail hardener, it was not too bad. I tried super-glue, which was hard to apply smoothly, bt worked better.

Unfortunately I work construction and on the occasions that I need to wear work gloves, it causes the hardener or glue to flake off.
At least hardener comes off with nail polish remover.

Until I get brave enough to go into a salon and get acrilics, I'm going to have to enjoy my 'meaty' sound.

OK, I apologise for bringing up the nail subject again. If some of you guys answer the following questions, I promise that I will never bring this subject again. I can't do anything about other people who come along, but you can feel safe knowing that I won't bring it up again.

So I'm planning on taking Romerito's advice but I have a few questions I want answered first.

How many of you have tried the self-applied nails? How did they compare to professionally applied nails? Quality, duration, feel and duration?

How are the nails affixed to the real nails? If my work causes super glue to flake (I've only done the end 1/4 - 1/2" of my nails with glue), what's the likely hood of these things coming off?

Are there different types (i.e. materials used in manufacture) that may be better/healthier than others? Are there different kinds of adhesives that are stronger?

If I'm looking at $20 in Walmart, what would I be looking at in a salon?

Do they look funny as my nails grow out?
