My Conde Hermanos

Hello,
My name is Dave and I've just joined the forum.
This is my guitar made from Brazillian Rosewood, top Spruce from 1996.
The model is - Fillipe 5 No. 2.
I'm not sure, but I think it's parallel to the model AF25/R of these days.
Can you help estimate it's price?
And tell me what do you think about this model.

Thax Dave

Hola Dave,
Welcome to the foro. As to your guitar? Oh.... I will take it off your hands for £20, can't be fairer than that can I?

Hi Dave,

Based on your description (brazilian rosewood/spruce top, Felipe V shop) it is the AF25/R model. It is the same model played by Paco de Lucia. I own one and love it. Current prices for new ones range from $8K to $8.5K in the US. If you try to get it directly from them, it is even more expensive with the exchange rates.

Conde guitars are known for their playability (easy/comfortable to play) and their loud sound.

Hope this helps,

TK

Would have to play it to say for sure. Important to note it is from the Felipe V address (no2 is the address, the model is Af25/R), because the guitars similar to this from other shops, same year, are cheaper typically.

PDL plays an older guitar from Gravina shop, not the same model really by number. I am sure he might OWN the same instrument, but he uses an older guitar live. Also it might be Bolivian rosewood, but I am not sure.

These guitars new now are above 8k as metioned. But this is used, so I am thinking you could get that price, but more like 5-6K for this year. It really depends on the condition and sound for me. If I were you, I would not let it go less than 5K, but try to get 7k if it is good.

Hey thank you all (in reply to dudeman

I really apretiate your comments, it's very helpfull for me.
I bought this guitar 6 years it's price was 4K$.
Its' amazing that the prices of those guitars are increasing constantlly.
If it cotsnts aprox. 8$k., then it's twice expensive then my guitar.
The guitar is absolutly in mint condition, not even one scratch.
I attached another pic from the back side and i wanna ask
If there's anyone that can tell me what kind of wood it made of.
I'm sure that it's brazillian rosewood but I 've heard about some kinds of these wood like :madagaskar' jakaranda ' ect...

The wood can be all kinds of things.incl. Braz rosewood. The problem is that all kinds of brownish wood from Amazonas is being used under the name of Braz rosewood.
The visual aspects are nice, but tonally wise and stability wise it looks quite flatsawn to me, which is not something I like to work myself.
If you look at the pictures of the Madagascar rosewood guitar I uploaded a short while ago, you´ll see that it has a bit of flatsawn part in the lower and outer part. Not so much as on this one. I wasn´t sure I wanted this piece of wood, but since the visual aspects were so stunning and since the majority of the wood is quatersawn and this where it matters the most (in the middle) I chosed to use it, but I prefer wood which is quatersawn

If you like it, great, play it and be happy. It looks good

I just received a blanca from the Calle Atoche Conde Hermanos store where my Flamenco instructor is of the opinion they produce the best blancas of all the three stores. He said if he were to purchase a negra, then he'd purchase it from the Felipe V location. Not sure if any one holds this same opinion or has heard of this opinion, but so far he is right. The blanca I have from the Atoche store is sooo much more well balanced in terms of weight than the one I purchased from Felipe V.

I havent had a chance to play the new blanca since I just got it today.

PacoPaella,

I was home long enough to bring it back from the US customs dept and then I had to head into work which is comprised of sitting in front of a computer for most of the day.
Being on this forum is as close to "playing" my guitar I can get at the moment :( Needless to say, I wont be sleeping much tonight :)
