Great looking blondes, Anders!

Another question if I may:

On a headstock (without pegs) the angle of the slots for the machine head rollers is typically not parallel. Why is this, and what difference does it make?

I have drawn 2 white arrows on this picture to show you the angle I mean:

When you angle the tuners a bit, strings will stay together and not move towards the inner wall where they will make damage and friction will make tuning more difficult.

No rear view of naked blond babes. It´s against forum rules. (noone read reads these nowadays )

Jon, the one to the left is yours. The fly is the amigo of my invisible friend. He´s called Olegario , a very noble and correct name for such a fine fly. (He didn´t even move when I took the picture )

Keeps the strings more in-line with their respective slots in the nut doesn't it?

Were the slots angled in the OPPOSITE direction, this would be true (ie. with the slots closer together at the top of the headstock and further apart at the bottom).

But as the slots are on most guitars, the outer strings are angled INWARDS and the inner strings are angled OUTWARDS.

I think Anders is right that this guides them towards the centre of the roller slot.

I believe some of the Gypsy Jazz guitars use these "reverse-angle" headstcok slots.

thats relly nice ,what about the negra ones and what about time you spend in bulding a guitarra ? what is the Caviuna Negra with Double Sides ? do you build this type? + the fly

Hi doublekk2

I build around 10 - 11 guitars a year, and I dont build Caviuna. I dont like it. You never know what you get. Caviuna is a name not really saying anything. Its brown wood from Amazonas.

I build negras, using Indian Rosewood, occasionally Madagascar and Brazil and I will build with Panama Rosewood within a year or 2. I also have some Malaysean Blackwood (beautifull) waiting to be used. You can see more info on my website.

waw i like your site and guitars , but about the caviuna i saw on guitar salon on the AF 25R CONDE HERMANOS they mention brazellian back and sides and on the label its written caviuna ???? so i wana know what does it mean???
