greetings, Peter.

Thanks for going to the trouble of posting that stuff Dave.
It was very interesting to hear an "insider's" view of the guitar in Flamenco from somebody, especially a non Spaniard, playing professionally in Madrid.

cheers

Ron

i never realised how relatively young Mr Davies was when he died. In about 1988, he produced a series of flamenco tutors that also came with a cassette recording of each piece. they where published by a company called ''harpocean''. my set is incomplete though, does anybody know if they are still available?

You could try the Music Exchange Stockport, for the music, if your from the UK. How old was Ian Davis when he died, and does anyone know whether he had been ill for a while.
Cheers
Dave

thanks for that billyboy, I will give them a try. They are worth go at if you can track them down. the beauty of the recording of the pieces on cassette was that he played them at half speed, so you had a fighting chance of learning them.
I believe he was 49 when he died.
