While you guys were bitching

My girlfriend, whom I met when she was selling eggs on the camino, broke my heart this last week. Don't worry, I have friends and neighbours (amigos y vecinos are incredibly important down here) so I will be all right but I wish I could sing flamenco.

Sod the solo guitar, it means nothing to me, except for "Mi Tierra" by Pepe Habichuela (someone who doesn't get much of mention here, but a Granadino and a master nonetheless).

I even learned the first page of "Mi Tierra" (sort of) for her, but she doesn't like flamenco, jeez what was I thinking?

oh sorry man. A heartbreak is never good. i think any siguiryas by Camarón would do in this case.

and why arent we talking about Pepe Habichuela here? He´s one of my favorites.

Simon, learn "Hondo" by Habichuela.....
that one will be for you at 3 AM during a moment of reflection and solitude. It's too bad that he doesn't get much mention. Some of his pieces are on a whole other level in terms of art, reflection and solace.

My commiserations, Simon. I do hope you won't let it get you down too much. Although I seem to remember you saying something about a young lady with a broken down car that was keen on you. Maybe there is some consolation to be had there?
