Conde Negra FOR SALE

I'm selling my 2000 Conde negra, from the Felipe V shop, with Brazilian rosewood, and French polish - not lacquer, and not orange! - 650mm scale, gold plated Fusteros with real mother of pearl buttons. Spectacular wood on this one. Condition is excellent.

I've owned 3 Conde negras over the years, all good, but this is the best of them. A remarkable guitar.

A dealer would list it for $7500, and that's what you would pay from the Felipe V shop in Madrid as well. Ebay prices for these have been nearly $6000. MAKE ME AN OFFER above $5000 and we can probably reach a deal.

If you are talking about the AF25/R model, then they are worth more than $7,500. I think the new ones are worth $8,500 in US from dealers. And if you order from Conde, it is listed as 8,030 Euros.

hi guys, yes, this is the AF25R. Guitar Salon does sell them for about 8500 but this seems too high to me. and yes, the Conde shop has also started charging through the roof. I guess it's whatever the market will bear. That makes this one a particularly good deal for someone.

Tom, I'm selling because I have two good blancas and that's really more my sound, plus a good but less expensive negra for the times I want a negra sound. And, more directly, we've got a kid on the way so I can't afford to have the money tied up!

But, I've been resisting selling this one for months, and I'll miss it. It's really a good one.

Not for a Brazilian, French polished one. If it's a good one, it is well worth five grand or more in my book.

I agree with Patrick. Be careful with which Conde you are talking about. The Felipe V shop produces good guitars. The production of their guitars are consistent but playability may differ from one guitar to another such as any other guitar. I have played 4 different Reyes and they are all different in terms of feel and playabity. Trying is a must to see if the potential player likes it but it doesn't mean that the guitar is overpriced.

hi mike, it's still available. i'm in austin but can ship it anywhere, and do offer a 2-day approval period, so if you aren't satisfied you can return it. but, i don't think you'll want to. i've owned three conde negras over the last 6 years, and this is the best one.

Incidentally, I have already offered one for sale on Foro, not Rio and probably not as good as hhmusic's but closer to your price.
Details below, no takers (so far)

FelipeV shop, dated 2003.
Indian Rosewood back and sides with spruce top. Conde 'orange' colour.
Signed and with AF25 written on the label.
Condition? I'd say 'as new' with virtually no marks.
Crisp basses with bright clear treble, needs some playing in.
£2,500 + delivery to you from Scotland.

I don´t think the Conde dynasty makes any guitar at all. However I understand that the Felipe V shop contracts Valencia factories to make their "cheaper" models and ex Ramirez luthiers to make their best guitars and the top instruments are really good. However the prices are ridiculous and are different for professional players and the rest.

To be honest, I don't care who makes them but they are excellent guitars. They have the authentic flamenco sound that existed from Domingo Esteso. Whether it is made by the 2 brothers or a 3th person, the professional models are unique such as Lester Devoe, Gerundino, Reyes etc...

I own the Domingo Esteso Re edition model and it is out of this world.

well, the dog days of summer are over, and things are picking up in the guitar world again, so i've decided to list my conde on ebay. you can view it here:

if you check the dealers sites these are 7500 used, and more than 8000 from the conde shop. so, though not cheap, this is a huge savings on this one.
