Tab software

I am looking for software to convert from music score to tab. Apparently Power Tab and tabledit cannot do it. I found that Guitar Pro 4 does it, although it does not quite fit flamenco music.

Does anyone know of anyother software?

Music score in what format, or do you mean enter as musical notation and get a tab? TabEdit can do that.

Not quite sure what you mean. As Simon says, if you enter a score in Tabledit, it will have a pretty good go at the tab. I say 'have a go' because obviously there are quite often several places to play a given note and Tabledit will not always get it right. This would apply to any music notating software though.

Not quite sure what you mean about Guitar Pro either - there are many flamenco guitar pro tabs available on the net. I think that with any notation software you will have to find little workarounds for how you notate flamenco. Tabledit does a very good job for the money - I know that Tom (member of this forum) ahas painstakingly transcribed a whole bunch of flamenco with it.

I prefer Guitar Pro to TabEdit because I really don't know musical notation and with GP it's very easy to change the time value of a note. You just click on the note that you've transcribed and, using the '-' or '+' keys, you can change it's value. I find this very useful when I'm (trying) to transcribe. As far as it not being suited to Flamenco, I'm not that concerned with accurately transcribing rasgeados as there are other ways of indicating their time value. Besides, rasgeados are very much a personal choice. Check out Tom Whitely's site, he's got 101 of them to choose from, but most professional guitarists only use 2 or 3. I'm much more interested in transcribing falsetas as accurately as I can and I find GP tp be very user friendly.
