RE: Florian (in reply to koella

Hm, was "some people" directed towards me, ahlid? Well I didnt blame Ron for anything, except that I found it strange to "suggest", as you said, koella to leave the foro until Florian is back. I am counting myself to the people who miss Florian, in a platonic way of course. Its Ron's decision to feel the same or to disagree. Anything other, like that "suggestion" did in an implicit way, brings up a whole unhelpful and different topic, than Florians abstinence. Thats what I meant with "mean", I could also have said "inapropriate" or so. It wasnt my aim to come as aggressive or so, really.

Don't you find it ironic that someone makes a post saying people shouldn't jump to conclusions about being insulted, and then you do just that, Deniz?

You can find Florian at myspace.com. Leave him a message there or just listen to some of his playing.

One thing's for sure, when Florian reads this thread he'll laugh his ass off and write some reply to make everyone else laugh their asses off as well. Love that guy, hope he's back soon. If you check out some of the replies to him from the ladies at MySpace, you'll see why he's so busy...

Really? Actually I have stated: "I didnt blame Ron for anything" and I still dont, so I dont understand your problem at the moment. Attention, I didnt comment anything regarding the JM-Thread or Florian... (why are you still wanting to move to that topic?)

Ah, ok lol

edit: Are they real? I clicked some other profiles and every male has such comments.

RE: Florian (in reply to XXX

There are more people reading this thread than any other on the forum!!! This is ridiculous.

Perhaps Florian posted too much and overdosed on us all and got bored, got a girlfriend, grown up and left home, perhaps he's simply playing flamenco or maybe he is still here reading all these posts under another name. Whatever, let him go and move on, he'll show up or not as the case may be. Sorry but really.......Sometimes I dont post for two weeks and no-one notices at all

Anyway I'm off to join the action with Florian's friends on myspace

RE: Florian (in reply to Kate

Man i love all this attention !!

I tought i should clear a few things up for myfriends instead of just leaving it up in the air.

First of all man i am so touched by how kind and good you have all been to me really, all i did was post the first thing that came into my head out of about 100 posts youl be lucky to find about 3 that are intelligent and helpfull to anyone lol:-)

I didnt leave this place because of anyone person, it had just been a long week of arguing and was starting to get really defensive, in some of this arguments i have acted unlike myself and i hated beeing that person.
I allways speak frankly but at same time i dont go out of my way to put anyone down or insult anyone, and in some cases lately i did and didnt recognise myself after.

the reason i left is more to do with how i view myself more than anyone else i'd like to still be able to look in the mirror and like who i see.

I am not sulking, I am not bitter, not trying to "punish anyone" on the contrary you are all still my friends, allways.

Anyone that wants to say hello knows how to find me and i will allways allways be happy to hear from any of you.
Thank you all for beeing way too good to me, this forum was here before i got here and will be here long after i am gone.

I havent stoped flamenco just didnt like the person i had become on this forums lately (but thats all my doing) thank you for letting me hang out with you cool people :-)

Miguel.. they pretty real :-)

Ah, but we do notice, Kate... we send eachother PMs saying "that Kate has much better things to do than hang around with the likes of us!"

Florian,
I knew you'd like all this attention! But sometimes it is easy to argue for its own sake... I'm speaking from experience here. Sometimes when I get an idea or opinion in my head, there's no stoping me, regardless of truth and reason. And after the arguments, I take a step back and reflect on things and realise that my attitude had been foolish, and I feel bad about myself for it. But such things are sometimes part of our nature, so its best just to accept them, or try and change them. In your case, I think the majority of members thought that your good points outweighed the bad ones. So hopefully when you've recovered from your unhappiness, you'll be back on the forum again. But not starting major arguements, I hope!

Cheers,

Jb

Hi Flo,
Don't worry man...your just behaving like any other screwed up Artist..
I question stuff all the time...sometimes I wish I could be like my neighbour and get happiness out of mowing the lawn and polishing the car.
This is the price I think all people who are really into music have to pay.
In a way I think probably a lot of musicians/artists are bipolar to a certain extent.
We experience ongoing peaks for a few weeks which tend to heighten, then fall into a low, for no apparent reason.
It's par for the course, it seems.

Like your site with all the girls etc!

Good idea!
I see you've got a lot of hits!
Actually ToddK put some of his stuff up on one of these sites and ended up getting some pretty well paid work out of it from some US TV channels.
You don't know who's gonna be tuning in.
Also it's great that ordinary members of the public who know nothing about Flamenco can hear your stuff and you can get valuable feedback of their reactions.

But at the end of the day, when you really want some hard, honest critisizm from fellow players.. and be put over the fiery rack....
You know that you're really only gonna find that here!

Come on..You know that yourself man!

cheers

Ron

Well Florian, during the time you were not here it was exciting killing the time working in my vegetable garden and staring at my stampcollection.

But now I think I'll start playing again.

Yes i think so to since they make up the majority of people that might come to see you at a gig.

hehe thats a tough one (not that i take it too seriously) but do I stay there and be made to feel speccial by hot girls (even if i am not) or do I want real hard honest criticism ?... hmm ... tough one

On the same token there are some brilliant guitarists there, Jason Maguire, Adam del Monte etc.

but i am not saying that place is better then this or left this place cause of it i left cause i argued too much lately hen i should be spending time practicing and working on music.

ha ha ha so true, I'm far too busy having fun ....... but seriously I do like being part of this group and getting to know you all, some of you in real life, and also seeing how flamenco is perceived away from Andalucia and what international flamenco fans want as well and I've met some great people and some of you have even bought the productions we work so hard recording.

Am thinking of taking a course with Florian, how to make people love you more and more. Looking forward to the wrestling practise

Kate

Well, I think I speak for most of us when we say the feeling is likewise. And I, personally, hope you go on to produce many more CDs of the same calibre as the one I own by Emilio Maya.

Personaly, I can tell whats up. Florian is taking his life and his instrument very serious we can't be here all the time and we shouldn't.

I think you play better and react better and feel better when you can juggle things so your interests are going from one thing to another. This way you feel fresh everytime you get to a new project.

Sometimes the discussing and arguing posting recording thinking is a big energy drane when we should be doing things, studying, reading, working, gigs, family, ect:

With all this said makes me wonder about Todd and Henrik, those two have been hiding and getting better(woodsheding)can't wait to hear there new stuff come on guys post some of that new stuff you guys have bee working on.

Have a good day gotta get to work.

I totally agree 110%

To me it looks like to many have to little to do and use their time posting irrelevant stuff on this forum.
I´m reading a lot on this forum, but I´m posting less and less....... I just dont see the conection between a lot of the posts here and flamenco.

I´m sorry.... I´m very "cutting" and straight. But it is very boring to read non relevant discussions involving people wearing to small shoes

I could do as many others have done.... Leave. But no, I´ll stay. I use my intuition and read few posts. I might miss a good post or two, but I wont waste my time.

I totally agree with Anders, Kate, Ron, and ...

I think this forum is starting to feel like a chat room. This is unfortunate! This forum has been very useful to me as a begginer flamenco guitarist and I am grateful for that. But I see the focus is now changing from the art itself to chat room caliber material. I think it is time to "democratically" (this one is for James!) change the focus of the forum and open up some useful artistic dialogue.

Aw, come on... I don't make that many off-topic posts do I? And even if I do, I usually make about 2 on-topic posts for every off-topic one. But I agree- its all part of maintanting forum standards, as I said in another thread. I plan to make less off-topic posts in future. In fact, I'm planning to make far fewer posts in general, if any at all. Time to stop chatting on the internet and get down to work. Although I think we should probably scrap the off-topic section if you guys feel so strongly about this sort of thing.

(my last post for the time being... although I mean that in a more definite way than Florian )

Sorry James! That's not what I meant! I was only jokingly referring to the democratic process as we discussed it in you last thread. In fact, I do enjoy reading off-topic threads that are interesting, fun, or thought provoking, that's why I responded to your "Democracy" post. I think the off-topic section is a good feature of this forum and should be used intelligently as most members in this forum do. In any case, I do enjoy reading your off or on topic posts. My apologies again! You should know that English is my third language, so I'm allowed to make literary mistakes like that!

RE: Florian (in reply to Ramin

Ramin,
No apology needed, and no offense was taken. But you are right that the we do need to try and keep to flamenco to some degree... after all, this is a "flamenco forum"! I have to admit that most of my colleagues aren't remotely philosophical, so if I sound excessively philosophical on the foro, its because I have questions I need to get off my chest that I cannot do so elsewhere. I think its important not to be rigidly anti-off-topic, as sometimes off-topic posts can be interesting, funny, or useful. But you are right, the emphasis should be on Flamenco.

I have now deleted the email notifications for this thread, so if I don't respond from hereon, that is why.

Obviously, I'm not done with the forum yet- far from it (especially the luthiery section!). I just intend to post far less frequently from now on and only say things that need to be said.

Thanks,

Jb
