'98 Carrington 1A Flamenco Blanca, W...

I very recently purchased this off of Reverb but am moving it as I am looking for something a tad different tone wise. If i could afford to keep both for diversity, I would. It is a fantastic instrument and is everything the original seller proised and more.

heres what he had to say:

"1A Flamenco Blanca by Christopher Carrington, heandmade in Dallas in 1998, with Wittner mechanical pegs, french polish, pin stripe Ebony neck reinforcement, Gator case, and recent pro set up--incredibly low action, ready to play. This is an AMAZING instrument that would sell new today for $3800 and WAY better than famous maker Spanish guitars I've sold for twice as much as I'm asking for it. In fact, the only guitar I can recall that sounds like it is a 1964 Ramirez (also a Cedar topper) once owned by Sabicas, having a very particular kind of sweetness associated with vintage Ramirez Blancas.

I'm overwhelmed with this guitar's sound and playability (2.2 action on low E--and no buzzing at all!)
And whoever gets it will get a guitar worth well more in sound than the $3800+ his comparable models cost new today. Absolutely first class materials, exquisite details, great playability--but buy for its sound: full, loud, MUY FLAMENCO but with a deep inner reverb and IMMENSE SOUL which for many is the holy grail. Looks great but sounds ancient.

The combination of a 53mm nut, 650 scale and 2.2 action make it one of the easiest Blancas I've ever played--and one of the very few 650 scale guitars which has the qualities one associates with longer necks. Wittner mechanicals are THE way to go for pegs and the aesthetic details (headstock and rosette in particular) are as striking as they are tasteful. (Also note: that button on the end is not a strap pin--it's purely ornamental.)"

I lowered the action even more by removing the shim --see pics -- as the pulsation is medium to firm and i like something a little lighter. I did restring it with Daddario composites hard tension to make an even playing field with another guitar I was testing.
