Nice!

Since 2004 Robert Ruck (a student in the curso) would offer Gerardo one specially built model at the end of the week. The following summer he would come with a new guitar and if Gerardo preferred it, he would exchange it. Very often other students would purchase the one Gerardo kept and used from the previous year, or the new one he rejected. The early models had sound ports which Gerardo did not like and discouraged Robert from using them. This would have been one from later on (2009?). I remember Robert built Gerardo a guitar that came apart and fit into a brief case! (For flying lol). Robert passed away a few years ago, it was really sad. I know he had a wait list of like 6 years or more (people put the down payment to get on the list). Since he was very famous in the classical market, all those flamenco models out there in the last years were “line jumpers” that he built just to bring to Sanlucar.

Sorry to hear that: he used to visit Cádiz (probably on his way to Sanlúcar) and we met up in the taller de Rafael López, where we compared guitarras and herramientos and tapas. Muy buena persona.
