capo/cejilla affecting sound 

This is just a comment, but maybe you have noticed something similar. Recently my strings were sounding--off. I changed them and they still didn't sound quite right. It wasn't until I changed the rubber on my capo (Shubb) that I realized that the strings sounding off were due to the capo! It's been a huge relief to my ears, just curious if anyone else has had this happen, thanks!

Actually yes, although in my case it is when the D string buzzes from wearing a groove that no longer “grips” that skinny string. Yes I rip off the leather and replace it. I only had this problem with one capo I used most frequently.
