😂😂👌 good advice. I played it again this morning and it sounds good! Better.

Then I went to the beach. 🔆

The beach is good, if the trebles never come up to your expectations she could just become your beach and kids play guitar ;)

Always scary the first few strums… I find playing really hard for half an hour or so a few times for three days or so wakes up the beast inside the box. But that first hour can be disconcerting. I feel like the nut and saddle need to settle some under string tension and that’s why the first playing can be a bit of a dud at first.

What is it you guys say over there? Keep calm and carry on!

Thanks ehernandez.

Encouraging words as usual. Thanks.
I haven't had a chance to have another proper look/play/listen yet. I think I've harnessed the 'calm but haven't been able to 'carry on' yet! 😄

Congratulations Stu - glad you got there. It's a hard call trying to juggle family, work and extra interests, so well done.
On that final string up - I try and get the strings on, get them as in tune as I can then walk away and come back the next day. By then, things will be a load more settled and you can tune properly. That first hour things go wild, so not really worth spending time. As others have said, the top end will take time to develop. Some instruments are quicker than others - but playing helps a lot and keeping in tune helps too. That said, sometimes just leaving to mature can do good too. In 6-9 months time it will be a different animal.
