A glimpse of near where I live

My Italian neighbours enjoying a well-deserved respite.

I am experimenting with an iPhone, anamorphic (cinemascope) lens and a very decent Shure mic. All very discreet.

So, from this last Sunday afternoon.

Very nice Simon,

Looks very professional to me. Nice colors. Amazing how good the equipement is nowadays.
Funny lively music, I always like how italians make 50’s and 60’s music.
And, live seems pretty normal again.

Wow, really handy. I saw on the film, nearly nobody noticed you filming the streetlive.
I immagine it makes nice picturesas wel? Or is that better with no anamorphic lens?

That was the idea, to blend in without hassle. You can't take photos with the lens attached.

Very nice..neat video rig. We passed through Manarola on the train headed for Monterosso al Mare.

Looks like Monterosso may be just a little bigger than Manarola, and it has a sand beach, a requirement for Larisa. We enjoyed a few days in the Cinqueterre before heading on to Bellagio on Lake Como.

We spent most of the summer of 2015 in Italy, can't wait to go back for Larisa's best friend's wedding next year.

Fresh air, music, sun and beach. Gives me hope decency and anarchism will prevail in the world where the Italian MotoGP at Mugello had no crowd.

I had a lovely time on Como, great place although I had my camera stolen! Let me know where you will be in Italy, perhaps we can hook up then?

At present the only fixed point is Pordenone in Friulia north of Venice where the wedding will be. I suppose we may spend some time in Venice where we have become friends with people who owned a residenze a few blocks from the Piazza San Marco until last July. They still own and rent a few apartments out close to the Arsenale.

I would love to get together. Thank you for the suggestion. I doubt that we will confine ourselves just to Venice and Pordenone. We can make plans as the time draws closer.

Very nice, Simon. By the way, I may have missed it, but have you finished the electric "blue" guitar you were making?

It was on hold. I can only sand and spray outside and the weather was horrible. Then I got distracted with a short vacation in Florence and a lot of work was piling up. I will back on it soon. Weather is much nicer now and I can't wait to see the final result. It will get done.

I worked for the local council on the Côte d'Azure, 1979-1980. The sand was shipped in on trucks just before the season, and that includes Cannes and Nice. It was wiped off the rocks in the Winter.

When in the Med, look for the rocks.
