RE: A tale of celos professionales (in reply to Morante

The “dance off” duel, reminds me of the 3 times my wife insisted to dance while pregnant. She kept going till the end but I always had my fingers crossed.

Rita Ortega, a famous dancer, performed at the Cafe de Chinitas, and was there one night with her husband, the great matador Rafael el Gallo.

Gabriela Ortega, a noted dancer was the daughter of a famous singer and banderillero Enrique Ortega Díaz "Ortega El Viejo", and married a matador, Fernando El Gallo.

The union of the singer and the torero gave birth to "the two greatest pharaohs of the bullfight."

....a well known genealogical connection between flamenco and the corrida.

Something similar happened to me. We had a show in the Peña in Ireland and the dancer said she would dance seguiriyas. But she was 8 months pregnant. I said I would not accompany her, she might give birth on stage. She replied that she was going to dance and would do it a palo seco if necessary. So in the end I had to play.

Seguiriyas does not require athletics but sentimiento: she was sensational and brought the audience to their feet. One of our greatest exitos

I really like this guy’s singing. The guitar por Soleá is really bad compas wise, I wish to go back in time and take that guy’s guitar. Eduardo Malena does a perfect job for Oliver in a different episode. Oliver’s observation about cante at 8:30 is very interesting.

Ole! Bullfighting and cante, so politically incorrect today, but--great voice! I have a 60's (?) LP "cantes de Jose Menese"with Melchor de Marchena accompanying. Riveting!
