Just found this dissertation from 2017, in Spanish. I thought it might be of interest to some foro members.

Freely available, in two pdfs; the first is the actual analysis, the second is transcripts of interviews with about 20 cantaores.

Cool find finally got to read it. Not much different than other vocal coach info ... although bel canto is a more specific system. I got to play for some of those singers and so my perspective is in 3D. For example Jesus Mendez is a very loud powerful singer where as Esperanza and Arcangel are very quiet singers. There are yellers and very controlled singers. Very few have wide ranges. El Pele is unique that he can sing or rather chooses to sing in two octaves.

First one. Second one about vocal health (nodules like all singers get I assume) I will get to eventually.
