Antonio Rey at the Palau de la Músi...

Antonio Rey's giving a concert this Friday, December 18. Ticket holders can watch the live stream and/or possibly a recording within 72 hours (?). (The latter option seems to be suggested by the email they sent out. I sent them an email requesting clarification and will post their response here, if I get one).

Thanks - booked! BTW strange it is happening from 10am central. I thought maybe they mean 10pm but it does not appear so.

In which case I'd be up at 8am watching it

The email they sent out has this ambiguous line:

"Streaming from December 18 starting at

8 am USA PT
11 am USA ET
5 pm Spain

Available for 72 hours."

I was hoping that might mean that ticket holders could view the concert within 72 hours (and thus that some of us wouldn't have to watch the live performance first thing in the morning). But that line may simply be a reference to the purchasing of tickets. I'll post here if they clarify.

I am pretty sure this refers to how long the event will be available for viewing after the live stream. The same phrasing was used for the Grisha concert recently to refer to post-livestream access.

Such tough times. I was thinking why would anyone pay to watch a concert online when you could simply look at youtube videos. I understand that there may be new material presented but still. Then I clicked on the link and saw it was only $5.00

What a difficult time to be a musician. I'm a huge fan and I hope thousands tune in.

Did the same people handle the live stream for Grisha's concert?

No, I was just saying that this is a normal phrase to use for how long the recording is available after the event streamed. No 100% guarantee but it seems very likely this is what is meant. And otherwise what is the 72 hrs (3 days) referring to - even now there are more than 3 days till the concert. Also it makes no sense to cut off sales at a predefined time, does it? Access is instantaneous as soon as you pay.

I must say though that watching it live is quite exciting - in the same way watching a live soccer match is different than watching it recorded later. So I definitely plan to be up at 8am pacific to watch it live I guess the timing is such that it falls in the afternoon/early evening in Spain.

One would hope. I just don't want to oversleep and then discover that I'd missed the only opportunity to see it. That and watching a concert during the first few hours of the workday feels like drinking at noon.

Man, what a huge disappointment.

Artist management and concert promoters: If you announce a performance, there's a default expectation that said performance will occur in the near future. And if you're instead going to livestream a performance that happened two years ago, then you need to make that explicit.

Damn.

Yeah. Man, I was pissed. Some of the people in the chat box were also surprised.

It’s an old gypsy trick! (Jk) I knew it sounded fishy that this major venue would allow a live stream shoot to take place in there after he already filmed that DVD. Anyway, I wonder who got the money. The folks that didn’t see the DVD still got a “live” show, but anybody that owns the disc got played big time and deserves a refund. But the actual DVD show is fantastic...Ive watched it dozens of times!

Looks like the website above is operated by a mexican company. I can now say it's all because of trump. I think the target audience was american aficionados.
