Ship of Fools

Spinning the metaphorical dial tonight, we came across Ship of Fools (1965), which features José Greco & Co. It’s many decades since I saw the Co., but I thought I recognised Justo & Carmen Quintero, who impressed me considerably first time around. Can this be right?

But of more immediate interest was the left-handed (flamenco) guitarist. I can’t remember any such of note, but IMDb credits one Anthony Brand, who also has a rôle as a flamenco singer in another film.

Can anyone shed any further light on this?

The April 1980 issue of Jaleo has a lot of information by Paco Sevilla about Jose Greco and his companies, including lists of all dancers, guitarists, and singers by year: http://www.elitedynamics.com/jaleomagazine/JALEO-1980-04-GRECO-R.pdf

Justo and Carmen Quintero are indeed listed as having been in his company during 1965.

Anthony Brand is listed as being from the US and only playing for Greco in 1965. I wonder if it was just for that film. He is also listed in other movies, variously as a flamenco singer; dancer; guitarist.

There is a Jul 11, 1964 newspaper article in the Las Vegas Sun, mentioning him: "Anthony Brand, described by Jose Greco as "the best American Flamenco guitarist in the field '"
