New member says hello

Hello everyone from Victoria,Canada.
I'm very pleased to have finally joined this forum after some years of lurking about.

Recent events have prompted me to want to expand my understanding of flamenco and in particular, the wonderful guitars and their makers.

I'm hoping that some advice, admonishment and shared interest will be forthcoming from some in this respected community .

As a rock and roller, guitars have been an obsession with me for some 40 years.

As a on and off student of flamenco for maybe half of that time ,I've slowly become to realize how much the deep songs of soleares, siguryia and others are influencing my musical journey.

I look forward to anyone who may be interested in what I've got to say and any replies to my inevitable questions.

Thanks for reading !

Welcolm JC!

Kinda funny thinking about your "rock n roll", I like my flamenco "punk rock" or it's not worthy and I hate elevator flamenco.

I've started studying flamenco after a lifetime of noodling around on guitars, my hands are worn and a little shaky, but I grind away regardless, I wear my nails paper thin, and play like no one is listing and I don't care, which is totally true ;). Im Enjoying the journey.

I'm building Spanish guitars but as in my playing my hands are well worn with hard work and shaky. I've been joking with myself lately that they sound better then they look.

I prefer my flamenco guitar spicy,
doesn't have to be fast,
should have some meat on the bones,
can be raw or well done,
as long as it doesn't sound like it's turning green on an elevator floor.
