Hello and thanks for the opportunity...

Hi, I'm Mario and live in Clunes, Victoria, Australia, near Melbourne.

I started learning the classical guitar recently, then fell under the spell of flamenco. I have listened to some beautiful music and it seems more difficult to play than classical guitar.

I have also fallen in love with Anders Eliasson's beautiful blanca peg head guitars and would like to acquire one. I understand he doesn't make them anymore so it's a used guitar that I'm looking for.

I hope I can pick up this fascinating art and not become too frustrated while learning to make a lovely sound.

Mine's not for sale so back off Seriously you're obviously someone who appreciates quality

As for frustration just enjoy the journey. Without that advice, despite having an Ander's blanca, 15 years ago I fell by the wayside. Now 581 days into my second attempt, and with that advice, I'm enjoying every small step

Sorry wittering as usual. Welcome to the forum

Thank for your welcome. I'd love to see a photo of your guitar as I'm day-dreaming of Anders' blancas constantly. I understand he may have stopped making guitars but I live in hope of seeing one come up for sale. I'll keep on the look out on this forum.

Welcome.

You might be able to entice him but I think he has moved on to the odd violin and boats. I assume your have seen the documentary that Anders and I made about my peghead blanca?

I sold the guitar last year, to a good home, someone here on the forum. I didn't make much money on it, as I wanted it to be in good hands. I tended to play my cheap Bernal most of the time, so it stayed in its case, in good shape.

Thanks, yes, your film is what inspired me and brought me to coveting an Anders Eliasson guitar. I love his attitude, humour and the way he built the guitar as well as the beauty of the sound. I've noticed other makers use nails to hold parts , the neck especially and I don't like the idea of unnecessary nail holes , although some may consider it part of the individual touch of the luthier.

Thanks for responding and I suspect your doco must have increased the interest in his work.

I forgot to mention that your whiter than normal blanc really inspired me and I wish i had the opportunity to buy it, although I prefer a two-piece back (not neck as I wrote earlier). If it ever comes up again that's what I'd love to own.

Can you privately mention the price you sold it for so that I can adjust my expectations of the cost of entry into the fraternity of owners?

whiter than normal

Last November I bought a spruce/Indian guitar from Tom Blackshear, a luthier who posts on the Foro. The top was quite white. I noticed it every time I took it out of the case. But in the last few weeks the color of the top has changed to a more common light golden color. I played the guitar more than others, maybe an average of 8 hours per week, but while it wasn't being played, it stayed in its case. The instrument hasn't been in direct sunlight since I bought it.

I'm afraid I cannot do that, even privately. I have no idea of the market price but I would guess in the $2500-$3000 range.

I get that your heart is set on a guitar made by Anders, but you might also consider other makers?

EDIT: not sure what happened there, I closed the page before finishing the post, then tried to post it anyway, then opened the page again and the post wasn't there, so I made the same post again, and now there are two....!

and the "delete post" option doesn't seem to be there to delete one of them....
