Hello from St Louis, Missouri

Hello!
I'm a new-ish guitarist (I play mostly jazz) but I've been interested in getting into the Flamenco style. I joined this forum to get advice on purchasing a first instrument (under 1000) and learning techniques and pieces.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Foro. You might try the "search" function regarding opinions and experience with flamenco guitars you are looking for. In any case, there is lots of information on every conceivable aspect of flamenco (and non-flamenco topics as well).

Welcome Jim.

I'm fairly new to Flamenco myself but a long time noodler of sorts. I'm up here in Alaska and I started building Spanish guitars almost two years ago.

Lot of recent threads about starter guitars but most out of the USA, quite the international group here on the Foro. You will learn a lot reading those threads regardless.

Might be best to start a new thread with a little more detail about your needs, playing level etc after you have poked around the threads some.

I like to hit the " today's posts" link at the top right of the page to see what everyone is talking about and find its a good way to keep track of active topics.

We can be a friendly and actively contentious family here, don't let it scare you off, dig in, listen, learn, and feel free to share your experience.
