Karnak the Magnificent

I just noticed I only have nine posts to go to reach 500, at which point my membership gets upgraded and I get prizes or something. So, to celebrate, ask me any question about anything and I will answer it. Anything. I know everything. And if I don’t know, I’ll either make something up or just ignore you. No problem.

Ask away.

What is the average air speed of a laden swallow?

12 knots.

Unless you’re talking about beer, in which case it’s faster.

Three. Assuming they weren’t properly refrigerated. Also depends on the side of the road.

Rob, in an effort to assist you in achieving your upgraded membership, am I correct in assuming your handle "Karnak the Magnificent" is taken from the old Johnny Carson skit where he wore an oversized turban with a jeweled pendant in front?

Ahhh...finally a question worthy of my towering intellect (not to say Piwin’s questions weren’t good, but they were pretty easy).

The answer is ... tears envelope...blows....

Yes.

Yes. No. Maybe so.

Many years ago I started a new job and one of the engineers had a grey garbage pail beside his desk. He had taken a black magic marker and scrawled across its side “Ask me! I know everything.”

I immediately knew he was the smartest guy in the place.

pffff. Ok ok, a serious question: why didn't the eagles just fly the damn ring to Mount Doom?

The Eagles lost most of their power when they went commercial with Hotel California. If they would have loosened their load over Mt. Doom before that they might have had a chance...instead they chose to take it easy.

And...I do believe this post should make 500.

So, thanks for all the questions. I’ve got to go check my mail...expecting something any day now....maybe it’ll be a T-shirt...

That would be Segovia during one of his concerts at the fabled Filmore West. I believe he was opening for “Cream” and was using some of Eric’s rig for the show.

Apparently, he was vamping on “Sunshine of Your Love” when the picture was taken. Those were the days of extended guitar solos, I’m not even sure his set consisted of any more than that one piece. As it was, it went on for over 3 1/2 hours!

P.S. the photoshop wasn’t mine. I keep hoping whoever created it doesn’t like flamenco...

Hear me well, O gifted one! Let not your achievement result in descent into being a mere mortal again. Your all-knowing omnipotence (which passeth all understanding) is needed on this forum which, prior to your appearance, was as a simple chalk board to those of us who are mere scribblers.

Welcome to the club. With only 11,610 posts I’m still trying to get to “gold member”, but it will be a while I guess.

Hey RobF, if we team up and add our "points" we're only about 8,500 away from Ricardo. Together we can do this and catch up!

He’ll be looking over his shoulders now!

Mind you, he averages about 35 posts a day alone on patiently responding to a certain devilishly handsome fellow’s questions in unrelated threads*...not to mention the regular posts, so this might prove to be a bit of a challenge!

*to be sure, the whole Foro benefits from some of those discussions.

You know why I have so many posts? It’s because I never fuvking stop talking.

But my upgrade from ensign lowlife to fellow was done by Ron before I reached the required number of posts to make fellow. He did it like general conferring rank on a low tier grunt.

Tonight I’m going to have a drink to Ron. I miss the old bastard.

The time he posted the photo of the golden retriever with the dildo was the day I spit coffee on my computer thus killing it. I never held it against Ron, the computer that is, not the dildo.

I’m going to break 8000 posts this year and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. And furthermore half of those will be drunk posts, which will be difficult because I don’t drink during the week anymore.

Ok that was a lie.
