Hello From New Member

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I am new to flamenco guitar, but I have played classical guitar for a few years. I live in Atlanta, in the USA. I am hoping to get advice and help from other flamenco players who have gone through the rigors of learning flamenco. In my opinion, flamenco is more challenging, due to the fact that flamenco players like to play fast, and you have to be REALLY good with your right hand in order to to the rasguedos. I am amazed by players like Antonio Rey.

I am glad there is a forum for flamenco. Thanks in advance for your advice...

Bienvenido Dave. I was only talking to my maestro in Jerez this morning (a lesson) and we discussed the freedoms of flamenco as opposed to the restraints of other genres. Hopefully you will feel that freedom. But enjoy your time on the foro. Plenty of great stuff and great flamencos here - be they players, luthiers, or just enthusiasts. And hopefully you will share your progress with us

Hola Dave.

I only recently started harresing the treads after lurking for well over a year.

I too had studied classicly years ago. Not sure I'll ever site read again and lucky I can name the strings ;)

Been lots of chatter on the off topic threads last couple weeks but plenty of good people on the foro: excellent players, teachers and luthiers hanging out here.

doesn't have to be fast,
should have some meat on the bones,
can be raw or well done,
as long as it doesn't sound like it's turning green on an elevator floor.
