Actually it was not an interview. The video title says Biographical Portrait. I really enjoyed the video as well. Very up close and personal.

As for the short story about Bon Jovi, I wonder which song your classmate tried to play. Bon Jovi songs are always weird on guitar. I guess most of them were not written on guitar.

Talking about rhythm, people underestimate the importance of rhythm until they enter any other rhythm oriented music genres like funk or flamenco. Then they are told learning compas is hard etc. But as you said it's not really different than the western music today. What we need to understand for 12 beat compas first is 3/4 time. The same time signature for Happy Birthday Traditional. The rest is easy.

Have there been any updates to the flamenco track on Elite Guitarist within the last 2 years?

There's a lot of great material there, but it looked like they had stopped updating a while back.
