Going places in Seville

I am going to Seville for four days next Monday. Any places worth visiting guitar-wise? Apart from the two Postigo shops in the Santa Cruz neighborhood...

Luthier Antonio J. Garcia. He responds to email very quickly. Ive never been to his place but from my last week correspondence, he has several guitars for sale, one of them at half price due to a 1.5 cm repaired crack that not visible. I’ll be in Seville for a month starting next Sunday. He will give you address and phone number, his email below:

I went to see two luthiers, one in Bomujos and one in Marcarena. Not recommend.

Go to the Museo de guitarra somewhere around the Jewish quarter. Not to buy, it’s just got cool old guitars to see, and they do a lil flamenco show.

the two Postigo shops

The one next to the cathedral looked closed last year (I'm not sure if permanently), the other address is the guitar-museum mentioned by Leñador.

I can highly recommend
Antonio Bernal
C/ HERNANDO DEL PULGAR, 20 / 41007 / SEVILLA / ESPAÑA
(+34) 630 444 905
homepage

and Pantoja is good as well:

Alberto Pantoja
Fray Diego de Cádiz 21

this is the catalogue on his homepage but the site isn't working correctly.

RE: Going places in Seville (in reply to sartorius

Thanks

Went to see "La casa de la guitarra" which indeed is a museum with guitars starting from the year 1800 (was not really a guitar then) till 2018 (Marvi in Maple).

I saw a 1913 Antonio de Torres, lots of Viuda Y Sobrinos, Conde, Ramirez, Reyes and the likes but no Barba. JL Postigo (the owner) may not be in good terms with them. Entrance was free to the museum but soon people started coming in for the early evening flamenco show. The guitarist was warming hands at the entrance when I came in so I enjoyed some Malagueñas and Bulerías during my visit. The guitar sounded incredibly good to me so when I was about to leave I asked him for the name of the builder: '1990 Reyes' was his answer.
