8000€?a good deal or not for vic...

I live in CHINA right now and i am looking for a good flamenco guitar.

A friend told me that vicente carrillo have a comercial office in China now and he left a guitar (model Pasion Blanca).

It is really expensive, the price is 8350 euro.

It’s worthy or not?

If you have to ask it, it probably is to expensive. I mean if you are willing to spend 8k on a hand build flamenco guitar, you should know what you are looking for and how much to spend.

If you google, you will find you can buy it online for considerable les.

It is less than 6000 in Europe so you can calculate if shipping, insurance and import duty would account for that.

It would be worth a few thousand less as soon as you buy it!

You could buy two great guitars from young makers in Spain or luthiers on this forum for the same price.

Definitely overpriced. I had an opportunity to try Antonio Rey's carillo blanca as I couldn't take my guitar for the Antonio's workshop in London about 3-4 years ago. He told us, he going to sell it for 5000 euro.
To be honest even that blanca worth it about max. 2500 euro (to me).
For 8350 euro I would go for example to Granada for 1-2 weeks ( sleeping in 5*hotel with full service :D ) as so many good luthiers available over there and not just there, ( probably not the top brand pop luthier names ) but as I've experienced the last few years... well I would go for a less "known" luthiers than any "pop" names as I've heard a lot of "made in valencia" stories.
Im talking about real stories, not from internet woodoo mambo jumbo gossips.
A friend of mine who has stopped selling flamenco guitars in London unfortunately, he used to sell very nice and top guitars bought straight away from luthiers and sold it with just un poco profit on it, as that was his passion and hobby.
I was shocked when I heard how much profit some of the very popular names are putting on it however the origin of the guitars...very very questionable.
I have a Victor Quintanilla Fernandez negra from Malaga, and an Andrew Smith blanca from Jerez. And yes, it was a topic about Andrew's guitars, I can confirm, Antonio Rey is one of the Andrew Smith guitar owner and just for compare:
Andrew has 2 category 1700 euro and 2700 euro. And the sound ( very hard to find on internet) its amazing.
Sorry for the long writing, but Im really mad if I see any kind of these overpriced nonsense.

Yep, I attended that workshop too and I do remember that he offered the guitar for sale although I didn't wish to try the guitar.

sunjunyi - If I needed a guitar and could even afford to pay half as much, I would definitely go for a guitar from one of the brilliant luthiers here (i.e Stephen Faulk who happens to live in Japan which seems to be the nearest to you).

They sound pretty close through the video (the spruce top). The bass strings do sound more robust on the Andrew Smith, which might be a negative if you like a balanced sound.

Severely overpriced.

I can sell you a new 2006 Vicente Carrillo Blanca with cedar top for 3500€ from my personal collection. It still has the tap plate (golpeador) covered with its adhesive transparent protection (when I'm saying new, it truly is). I picked it up at VC's workshop because it was really good but already played a 2005 with the same features that I often use. It has that special 'bouquet' that only seasoned guitars have.

Just consider the price of shipping and import duties and you'll have an idea of the final costs.
