May Flamenco workshop in LONDON

Hello flamencos!!

As you might have seen, I will be coming to London from the 26-29 MAY to teach the guitar course at Flamenco Academy London.

The course will centre on TECHNIQUE, COMPAS and DANCE ACCOMPANIMENT,

Each class is 2hours. We will study:

- 30mins of technical excercises (to warm up and polish our flamenco techniques such as picado, rasgueado, alzapua, arpegio...)
- 30mins of compas (using palmas to make sure we have a good grasp of flamenco rhythms in 12, 4 and 6 // understanding polyrhythmic elements in flamenco and learning how to accompany using palmas- an important skill overlooked by many guitarists!!)
- 1 hour of falsetas and material (taranto, alegrias and bulerias). We will be analysing the structures used to accompany the dance and learning falsetas that are useful in a dance setting.

Students will be able to record the material they need at the end of every class and ask any questions that come up during the session. I will also be pulling students out to accompany the dance classes from time to time to give some practical advice and experience.

You can find more information on the Flamenco academy website: http://flamencoacademy.co.uk/

Any further questions please post below and I will be more than happy to answer!!

Hope to see some of you there!!

Jero
