Help identifying a tune: Narcos: Sea...

Just at the 35:25 ish mark some flamenco music starts to play. I cannot find who it is playing. (my noob guess is Paco De Lucia playing some bulerias or similar, but not one I recognize)

The series is on Netflix, I can't find a clip of it anywhere. If you figure it out let me know, there are others that would like to know too!

Can you identify this Buleria in Nar... (in reply to Irish

It's definitely a buleria, pretty tight. I am sure someone would instantly recognize it. Here you go:

Narcos-s3e10 buleria (1m23s excerpt; buleria is continuous throughout)

I couldn't figure out how to upload an mp3 (how did people do it in the past?? - I've seen attached audio files). This link will expire in 24 hrs but by then i can find a longer term solution if the buleria has still not been identified.

It's a buleria but it's not Paco playing. Don't know who it is.

WIN!! I guess now we know who has faster keyboard picado

BTW that buleria is very nice - I'd like to learn that falseta we can hear at the beginning. Is that Moraito Chico? The zesty, spirited thumb work reminds me of him.

Can you identify this Buleria in Nar... (in reply to Irish

You might have to change the thread title to something more informative or enticing - so people know to look in here for the audio to listen to.

Like -"Can you identify this Buleria in Narcos_s3e10??"

Narcos-s3e10 buleria (1m23s excerpt; buleria is continuous throughout)

EDIT: Heh, I just discovered that one can change the topic title of any reply - which is what I just did by editing my posts. You can do it too.

Stylistically it sounds like Paco (or Ramon de Algeciras) or Tomatito. It doesn't have that "laid back" feel of Moraito to my ears.

My best guess would be Ramon de Algeciras.

But did Ramón even record any solo material of his own? His entry in the Grandes Guitarras del Flamenco series consists only of accompaniments.

That's true, I can't really find any evidence of him releasing any solo material. This video has 90 seconds of him playing solo buleria. It does seem unlikely it's him though.

The first few seconds of this Moraito Chico video (0:09-0:12) have a thumb sequence which is almost identical in feel and notes to a few notes at the beginning of the falseta in the narcos buleria:

I got nothing else, though.

Are recordings considered solo even with palmas? I didn't know that.

Without cante or dance is considered solo, as it is not accompanying anything.

Is a rock or blues guitarist soloing even when there is bass and drums?
