Vicente Amigo what song is this.

Hello Flamenco Lovers,

I was watching Vicente's concert Ciudad de las ideas on the following link:

https://youtu.be/OM5YG0DYOD4

The video mentions that the first song is "Callejon de la Luna". However, the first 3 minutes of this video, Vicente is playing a different song before starting playing Callejon de la Luna.

Does anyone here knows which song he is playing on the first 3 minutes of this concert?

Thanks in advanced,

Jordan Marcio

Hi,

It is just an "improvisation". He's basically doing this one with some variations for some years now (so it is more or less worked out).
After this, there is some taranta stuff from callejon de la luna, and then he transitions to soléa (around 5'00) most falsetas are from étio arangoé from De mi corazon al aire (1991) or from "mezquita" from Un momento en el sonido (2005) for "recent" concerts.
So basically "Callejon de luna" in this DVD => introduction por taranta, callejon de luna falsetas + soléa transition, soléa ending a compas.
It is quite common in flamenco that pieces are name differently but are in fact more or less the same thing (gerardo nunez , diego del morao) the differences are just speed, some variations on falsetas etc...
