Picadomusic

Has anyone tried this:

http://picadomusic.com

?

I'm being pressed to review it, but I can't do that without buying it, which isn't going to happen.

Note: I'm not inviting remarks about how such gadgets cannot substitute for a live teacher, still less for the ineffable lessons to be learned from hanging with flamencos, living in Andalucia, attending juergas, drinking fino, etc.. We know all that. The question is how this gadget compares with other gadgets of this sort.

I haven't tried it, but I like the idea.

Juan is looking older, but he still has the chops.

RE: Picadomusic (in reply to rombsix

yes a bit older ...

i see they put the Juans ..rumba gypsy kings known style on as their example , because of course you will appeal to a wider audience , and every one knows that is flamenco ...right ?

But you wont have an accompanying guitar ..or a dancer , or a guitar that sounds like his ,,,,.
you will in fact end up sounding like me .... sorry

and you can only learn what they put up there ....

And the Manolo Franco one is on his own CD learn flamenco ... he could have got his **** together a bit and put something different out there for a change ...

and the fact that you have the music doesnt mean you can play it as fast or as accurate as he can ..........
I think its another way to share something thats not new ......

Ah but the human element. The request is coming from the editor of Flamenco News, which is the volunteer-produced magazine for flamenco in London. She does, unpaid, the sort of boring back-office work that keeps a community together. So I'd like to reply with something more helpful than a blank refusal. Or at least, refuse gracefully.

Flamenco News

is that the newsletter of the Peña? I pick one up occasionally if I am in London, as I was recently. They reported the death of Pepe Habichuela, but as I could find no reference to it anywhere else I assume it's a mistake

This is the most negatively reviewed product that nobody has even tried, that I have never seen myself. Submit that.

I do have the app but no song. Its professionally made, currently offers 1 songs by world class players, and is form a well know flamenco software developer as they also made a metronome. So it is serious stuff

but i am also not going to buy as 20,- is a bit steep for 1 song and I do not like the songs.

Can you not write down your opinion without testing? I mean, it is a new development in music digitization. What does it offer? how does that compare to teacher, or one of JM's books. For whom is it? beginners or intermediars? waht about the choise of songs?
