'La Noche Escondida' ~ Electróle

Hi Folks
gave this a few listens since its release yesterday
Cant say i've heard an album quite like this, well under the flamenco genre anyway
Electonica and flamenco
Hip hop vibe on some tracks
Ambient film soundtrack on others
traditional Martinete and chilled ambient grooves
Cast of many
the distinctive tone and touch of Jose Luis Monton features heavily throughout the album
Some familiar themes of his which was a slight disappointment in terms of guitar but plenty of new material as well

The production is pristine - very much so - kudos there - an aural delight purely from that angle
the percussion grooves are very modern
using both traditional Palmas. Cajon with sampled electronica beats
lots of keyboard Pads
Piano/Flute and guitar features heavily throughout
Not a flamenco jazz album - much more than that ~ the down groove "Rap' sections work well in context

being open to music of this kind ( modern production, fusion, electronica ) is a must to enjoy the listen
might be good to leave the flamenco cante ears somewhere else ~ and the general vibe is very dark so no fiesta to be found
as a modern documentation its a great and innovative album which i imagine may spawn a new type of modern flamenco based genre - in 2017 it makes sense to me that this type of sound should filter into the modern flamenco world
